moving users from old to new install

my previous elgg install ceased to function properly after upgrading it to 1.7 so I made a clean install elsewhere and would like to move my users, their data and files over to the new install.
Does anyone have any idea how to go about doing this?

You must log in to post replies.I guess a more specific question would be do I need to copy all of the user's files from the old install to the new one and my tables from the original DB to the new one to achieve my goal or will I simply wind up breaking everything by doing that?
