Setting up Elggchat

Hi,
I'm a complete Noob to Elggchat. I've downloaded and installed Elgg 1.6.1. and then downloaded and installed Elggchat. I can't see any errors anywhere but I can't see the chat toolbar. Is there something I'm missing? Do I need to install PHP free chat or anything else?

Hi,
I'm using 1.6.1 not 1.7 because I was told the Elgg chat doesn't work on 1.7 at the moment.
