You must log in to post replies.Hi Mogey, simply register as a new account... the first account registered is automatically the Admin... there could be better guidance on that...
Thank you, also when other users try to register on my site, they get redirected to log in and then continue on to log in. When they click the log in button, they get redirected back to the main page again, with the login box appearing again. I have email verification off as my server does not allow send mail.
@mogey, very strange... Not sure I can help really. I have done a few re-installations, and as long as you register the first account, all should work ok. Perhaps you did not get a clean install? Try ftp ing the full package again and seeing if it works... may be a corrupted file?
Mohsin,
Can you log in? If so, go to "Administration" then click on "Site Administration." And this is going to sound crazy, but check out the"site URL, followed by a trailing slash:" field. This does matter!!
If you have "http://www.yousite.com" and people are trying to log in to "http://.yousite.com" or vice versa, you will have problems. Check that out and see if that fixes your problem!
I had this same problem today. I am very very new at this but I think the problem had to do with my being logged in as one user and not logging out, then trying to log in as another user. I was using IE. When I switched to Chrome I didn't have the problem. Clearing the cache may have helped too for getting back into it in IE.
So should I Change it to http://www.mydomain.com or http://mydomain.com
Mohsin,
Whichever it was before, change it to the other one! If you have a test user, try it and see what happens.
Ok I've changed it to www.mydomain.com and asked my freind to sign up.
