Elgg 1.7 beta bug report

Hello Brett,

Simple bug, with the 1.7 beta release. Whenever i click on the blogs plugin:

"mod/blog/everyone.php".

It shows the token error.

  • @Blue - it's a bug. Just added a ticket: http://trac.elgg.org/elgg/ticket/1532 Thanks!

@TahoeBilly - no, works fine for me (I'm using the latest from svn but I don't think there have been any commits related to that since the beta release)

@Tom - current version in svn does not require tokens for logging out - don't know if that will be that way in the final release

  • Cash if you are still around. The slideshow tab just dissapeared, which I sort of actually like! When you light box plug is running, does that disable the slideshow/tab function? This is tripping me out!

So after you answer that, let's say I wanted to get rid and the slideshow prefering your light box only, do I just delete some code in TidyPics 1.6.5? I am guessing deleting slideshow and keeping light box would reduce server load over time, as in they may actuall demand fewer blown up photos? If you have a code suggestion to ditch the slideshow and keep the light box, I'd love to know!

Why the default widgets don't work, hmmm, I would almost like to just hard fix the profile so I dont have to think about whats maybe loading in a newbies page.

Eventually I am having an entire custome profile done with some interesting tricks, but I would just certain fixed widgets no matter what.

    Thanks in advance!

    B

  • Oh wait Cash!! I just saw your light box make a slide show, what is this? Does Cooliris get taken over by your lightbox??? I like this! But I must say, where was this explained? I haven't seen it yet on my desktop, but on my laptop here is the Cash light box turning into a slideshow, without Cooliris. I know ur thinking what does this have to do with 1.7b, but hey when I see a menu tab "slide show" fall of the menu, it is sorta bizarre.

    B

  • Yeah - it has nothing to do with 1.7 beta ;-)

  • Cash excuse me for popping everything on here, but the thing is, I never saw a menu drop off in another version, so I don't know where to question that. Since l loved what happend, I will simply let it go.

Here are a few more questions. Are these related to 1.7 or not, I don't know, but they are NEW issues.

#1 As admin I thought I could drag and drop profile widgets for anyone I would like, I can't even get to them!

#2 I have built a "multi select" tusing the new Profile Manager. I have it set as admin only. It's there. I choose the multis and they don't show on the profile, even though I have it selected to show on the profile. The field is there, but I can't seem to save anything. It never populates the profile. It never connects with my front map which uses those fields.

#1 and #2 worked in 1.6.1. the fix obviously can be either the plugin or the core, correct?

    What do you suggest?

    Bill

  • #1 - The Elgg core has never supported an admin changing the profile widgets of a user. I'm unaware of a plugin that supported this.

#2 - When a plugin doesn't work, it is best to contact the plugin author and if it turns out to be a problem with the core, the developer can open a Trac ticket.

  • #1: try the "Draggable Widgets" plugin from Jeroen; with slight modification it allows the admin to add & change widgets on the profile pages of users.

  • I unloaded "default widgets" and loaded it back in 1.7 and now it works, got rid of some add in plugins I had.

I found that Dalsems Profile Manager is yet not approved for 1.7 as I assumed it was, so I will leave this forum alone unless I am quite sure there may be something in the 1.7 a problem versus plugins.

  • @TahoeBilly: Suggesting to submit incompatibilities of plugins with 1.7 to these groups/discussions and not here ... There were very good (security) reasons why Tokens are necessary in 1.7; maybe inconvenient for now but saving from real threats in the future; the plugin dev's need to do their work;)

  • Group bookmarks bug?  On my test 1.7b site it seems that group bookmarks aren't being saved to the group.
