  • Hi all , I am new to PHP and Elgg,
    any how, i managed to install on XP, Elgg and now ready for development. First thing is to customised the Login Page.
    As recommonded, i have used plug in. name "Index1" and placed this in mod directory.
    in this directory there is "view/default/Index1/css.php". the css.php contains

    #myLogo {
     text-decoration: none;
     *background-image:url('header.gif');
    background-image:url url('<?php echo $vars['url']; ?> mod/index1/graphics/header.gif');
    }

    and offcourse there is "graphics/header.gif"

    and i modifed my index.php and start.php accordingly. these are working.

    Start.php is below..

    ======================================
    function index1_init() {
        // Extend system CSS with our own styles
        extend_view('metatags','index1/metatags');
        extend_view('css','index1/css');
        // Replace the default index page
        register_plugin_hook('index','system','new_index');
    }

    function new_index() {
        if (!include_once(dirname(dirname(__FILE__))) . "/index1/index.php")
            return false;

        return true;
    }

    // register for the init, system event when our plugin start.php is loaded
    register_elgg_event_handler('init','system','index1_init');
    ?>

    ======================================
    now index.php to create a div with the id "mylog" as in css class.

     $login = elgg_view("account/forms/login");
     $logo =elgg_echo("<div id='myLogo' >Here Logo will be Placed</div>");
        //display the contents in our new canvas layout
     $body = elgg_view_layout('new_index',$logo,$login);

    ----

    When i run this,

    The text "Here Logo will be Placed" is displayed and then login control is displayed, but i am unable to display image.

    Can someone help me.

  • i have tested the CSS with following

    background-image:url l(''<?php echo $vars['url']; ?> mod/index1/graphics/header.gif'');

     background-image:url l(<?php echo $vars['url']; ?> mod/index1/graphics/header.gif);..

    Please suggest where i am wrong.
