Hello Brett,
Any chance of integrating plugins with the core ? There are several little ones, that seems just better to simply include in the package. Also, big ones, like Multisite is one of those, it seems too much trouble to implement as plugin, although many people would find it useful if its out of the box.

You must log in to post replies.Core is meant to be lightweight and uncluttered so it's very unlikely plugins will be merged into core itself. What is possible is that plugins will be included in the standard "full" distribution of Elgg.
What were the smaller plugins you're talking about?
.... datepicker ? ;)
Hello Brett,
These i consider basic, to be included in the package or even coded directly (not as plugins):
And stretching it a bit, but oh well:

This suggestion would create a licensing problem. Core is dual licensed GPL V2 and MIT, Plug-ins are GPL V2 only, and the ones you suggest are from multiple copyright holders. Cant munge third party copyright plugins in single deployment under any other terms than GPL V2, its a breach of the terms.
Hi Keny,
I'm sure we could contact the authors, they are already giving for free.
Not a problem.
