How can I add a logo?

Maybe information overload but one of the most basic functions would be uploading a logo but I'm not finding anything that shows/explains how. I read something about needing a plugin for 3 but no such plugin for 5 or I've missed it so far.

If you wish to have the icon shown in more places, then an custom plugin is needed. Mostly this is done in a theming plugin as you probably also want to change the site colors, etc.

By default, the site name shows up across the site but as text. I have a favicon already but I'd like that site text to be a logo instead. I'll take a look at theming. Thanks.
Can you suggest a well updated plugin for 5.x that I might be able to use?
The favicon is just a letter so I would not be using that as a logo and would want a real logo for the site name.

There is no feature you asked for, but I'll try to add this option in an upcoming release.

This plugin has this feature and more, but this product is only for Elgg 4 (yet).

It's nice to see the favicon option so if I may suggest putting a logo upload there, I think a lot of people would love that as a base function.
The theme looks interesting but as you mentioned, not for 5.x. That begs the question, this theme for example, is it a one time purchase with ongoing updates or would it cost every time there is a minor or major update of Elgg? Not complaining, just asking :).
Right now, I'm only trying to learn Elgg to see if it can suit a purpose but I can promise I'll become a supporter (at minimum) if I end up using it.

Hi, the main thing I'd love to see is that logo. I can't find it in the 5.0.6 update so I assume that's not been added. Figured I should ask in case I'm just not seeing it.

When I wrote that I would add this feature, I meant my plugin Elgg Landing Theme
Elgg as a framework will not do this, although you can open an issue on Github.
I'm a little busy right now, but plan to update my plugin soon.
