When I click on the logo, it shows widgets side by side which looks great.
When I click on my profile page, there are widgets on the right hand side only and the rest is all blank.
How can I make users profile pages look similar so that there aren't any blank white areas?

You must log in to post replies.Use drag-n-drop option over the header of the widget: you can move any widget on another place.
Also, look at these plugins:

You may also want to extend your profile: https://elgg.org/plugins/385114
I wasn't sure of the terms I should be looking for to learn more about this.
That's very cool and gives a nice control to the users.
Those plugins look interesting too. I'm a little nervous about using plugins yet.
Nervous that I'll find one or more that I really like but they end up not being updated.
Also, trying to learn the core which is really impressive so far.
Thank you again.
I believe you're still in the testing stage, not production. So you can always disable plugins
I'm only using core plugins so far.
Also it's possible to define a set of default widgets which will be added to a new users profile once they register.
Check out the admin section Configure -> Utilities -> Default widgets.
Please note this will only work for new users, existing users will not have their profile widgets changed.
