Remaining character in Wire doesn't work

Max number of character is set as 250 on my elgg. When I type any words, it keeps stayin as 250. I don't know why?As far as I know, each character I type must have been reducing the remaning character, but it never changes. But if I type more than 250 character, system warns me not to exceed the number of the max character.

You must log in to post replies.Works for me (tested on Elgg 4.3.3).
It's better to always mention the Elgg version you use (maybe the issue you describe was in an older version and is fixed in newer releases).
You might use a 3rd party plugin not compatible with the Elgg version you are using and as a side-effect the character counter might fail to work. It might help testing with 3rd party plugins temporarily disabled to see if the problem remains.
Thanks for your reply iionly and beg your pardon because I forgot to mention the version. It is same as yours and you are right that 3rd party may cause for this issue. When I disabled the plugin "thewirepro", the problem is gone. Thanks again. So I will inform the writer of the plugin "thewirepro" to correct it. Because it is also a plugin I like.
