If you enable HTTPS logins from the installer, you can never login if you have a non standard SSL port. There's no way to specify the port from the installer. If you prepend https:// to the site url in the installer, the site becomes httpss://

hi.. i have just run into this issue now. i have just elgg installed in the https part of my server and the database folder at that level too. when i create the first user and try to login i get and error as httpss:// doesn't go anywhere. i tried again without enabling https in the settings but then it directs to the http directory which is empty.
i hadn't tried this before as my other elgg installations are with another host which doesn't allow https
this is on 1.7.1 beta i should add.

problem came back today.. code replace doesn't work
guess i will have to wait till 1.8 to safely implement this.
