I thought I saw something about @username actually working as a tag... does this work? Or can this functionality be implemented?

Sadly none of those work on Elgg 3. They make the comment section disappear entirely.
So I found that the Wire Tools plugin works for the wire... I am going to try and see if I can apply what they did into the discussions as well... If anyone has recommendations let me know.
Yeah so I found that the problem with the plugins was the ckeditor, so I deactivated that. But now I am getting a "DatabaseException" when I try to use a mention... Anyone working on getting a fix for this? Seems like a pretty central feature of elgg.
Our reworked version of the mentions plugin works on Elgg 3

The easiest way to install is through Composer
Excited to try this out... Thanks!
