another thing ive noticed is that all the pictures like display pics and uploaded pics are on the server they have been imported from the old server to the new one but none of them are displaying.. its as if the site cannot find any of the images its supposed to be using at all except the default display pic and the header, and the front page picture i have up on there. oh and i forgot to say its elgg 1.5 im using...

I read that over....Ive done all of that already and checked over a few times....

Also tried the www.my_site.org/upgrade.php after changing the server paths in the database, still no luck...

its really odd cuz everything is checking out, everything seems to be done properly but the sites still loading with only text : \

turn off your simple cash this will bring up your site and make it easier to work on

ok so for future reference for anyone that finds this problem, simple and quick solution to copy an elgg site from one server to another.

folow steps here: http://docs.elgg.org/wiki/DuplicateInstallation

(I didnt do it in the specific order that this article says but it shouldnt matter its just copying everything over to the new server)

after ALL of those steps are done and checked over several times, disable the simple cash, refresh the screen and do the www.my-site.com/upgrade thing

at this point the sites template/css stuff will be back so it will look like your site again BUT the pictures may still not be back.

at this point simply enable the simple cash again and they should be back!

However, the groups' icon DO NOT COME OUT

And when I try to add icon to a group, the icon (small image pic) STILL do not show

however, icon pics for GROUPS do not show .... i tried to add, once again, an icon to a group and the image STILL do not show ... and I do not get an error message
