[Elgg 1.8-1.12 & 2.X & 3.X: Captcha]
but I have a problem with the captcha which is not displayed
Captcha will not protect your site.
This plugin helps more.
thank you all I will try this
I did not find or set the emails
Go to https://your-cool-site/admin/users/emaildomains
Fill the bad email domains at the 'Deny from' field, e.g.:
For reducing creation of spam accounts I would suggest to install the Spam Login Filter plugin (https://elgg.org/plugins/774755) in any case. You would then also have to register an account at StopForumSpam.com for an API key to be able to verify the account data used at account registration and if a spammer manages to create an account to report him when deleting the account. The StopForumSpam database is better to reduce spam account registration compared to the database used by http:blacklist (which uses different sources for their database). Nonetheless, you could use both plugins at the same time (but always use Spam Login Filter).
The Spam Login Filter plugin can also block account creation based on the mail domain entered on account creation. That's similar to the functionality of the Emaildomain plugin. So, either make use of this functionality of The Spam Login Filter plugin OR use the Emaildomain plugin but NOT both.
thanks i put emaildomains and it seems to work well if it persists I would add Spam Login Filter cordially
iionly as well as rvr always at our disposal and very efficient again thank you
