memcached on php72

I have memcached installed and showing active running in Centos 7 with nginx and php72 but I cannot get it to show in phpinfo.php or as running in elgg 2.3.9..I think it is something to do with php72 that I am missing. I have looked on google to no avail so thought I would ask here

In your php.ini add this line to the last:
extension=memcache.so
