You can get the 0.8 version of the event calendar here:
http://community.elgg.org/pg/plugins/kevin/read/262996/event-calendar-08-beta
This release fixes a bug in the plugin that made the previous version fail to work properly with Elgg 1.6.1.
It will work, however, with Elgg 1.5 and above.
In addition to several bug fixes, this version has numerous new features which can be toggled on in the event_calendar settings area under Tool administration.
This includes the often requested start and finish times.
See CHANGES.txt and README.txt for more information.

No donate button needed as the development has been funded by my clients.
All I ask is detailed bug reports!
And of course, you can always fund new features if desired.

@antifmradio - I have no knowledge of the plugin you refer to. However, the code has not changed a huge amount in terms of how events are stored in the database.
Thanks Kevin for the upgrade.
One of the things that i would find useful for later versions, is to be able to enter appointments, things like that. From 1 to 2 pm. Not only whole day events.

@UD Please read my initial remark above:
"This includes the often requested start and finish times."
Please people, read what I've posted and look at the README.txt and CHANGES.txt files in the zip before posting new feature requests or bug reports here!
That way we waste less of each other's time.
Widget comes out empty. Although public events appear in the custom index page
What could be wrong?
The widget shows the events that you have added to your personal calendar, not all public events.
thanks Kevin!
i'm trying it on 1.6.1 and it works nice! :)
