It's trivial to add site menu items via /admin/appearance/menu_items, but requires a plugin to remove them (best you can do is shove them into the More submenu). What if plugins instead registered for a site-suggested menu, which would place suggested items on the Menu Items settings page, and allow adding them with a simple click?

You must log in to post replies.alternatively we could add them by default, but allow easy management to disable unwanted items...
...If there's a great plugin for managing menus, maybe that would be better in core that the clunky UX we have now.
I'm never use /admin/appearance/menu_items but via my own custom theme\plugin only.
@Steve Clay Your idea could be usefull for Elgg-novice.. and it is really great idea.
Personally... I'll continue to work with my own plugin/theme separately from this default menu..
@Jeroen Dalsem and we can have a lot more questions about how to do it (from novices)
