I started testing Multisite on the new Elgg 1.6 release.
Please post here any issue you find, any bug or error, or suggestion to improve Multisite on Elgg 1.6.
I'll post more details on testing later on.

I did some extensive testing on 1.6 when it was first released, there seemed to to be a few bugs. Once I get a few projects off the table, I'll revisit this as I have two-three sites that would really benefit from multi-sites , they are running 1.6
Multisite 2.0 on Elgg 1.6 has been ported. I updated a zip file with patches to Elgg core to to let multisite plugins work.

After a first test things seem work, please do more tests.
A new version of Multisite Pack (core hacks + plugins) for Elgg 1.6 has been released:

I wrote a Developer's Guide that you can find in the pack or here:
http://vinsoft.it/elggfiles/multisite.pdf
http://vinsoft.it/elggfiles/multisite.odt
It is a starting point for a discussion that wish to bring multisite
features in the next Elgg release.
I'm excited to find this plugin and see the current activity. I'm hoping to get this configured soon and be able to contribute.
I have a site with 75,000 members that I'm planning to break into about 100 communities. Each with its own domain name, by the way. Hope that's going to work! :-)
I have this working on 1.6.1 with the exception that the creator of a new community is not given access to the adminsite link.
that's curious... we did not have that same problem.
What is the difference between alivin70's Multisite Pack 2.1 and Fabrice's Multisite Beta 1.33?
Multisite beta 1.33 was for elgg 1.3, the current one is multisite beta 2.xx
Alvins made a pack with 1.6 core libraries and a multisite plugin plugin 2.1 including some improvments in my multisite plugin
I am about to release a 2.2 plugin version for elgg 1.6 with some improvments and bugs fixing. This is for next week i guess.
So your multisite version will continue to develop, and in a different direction than Alivin70's? He had indicated you and he were working together on the multisite plugin (see http://community.elgg.org/pg/plugins/alivin70/read/258229/multisite-pack).
Will your multisite version 2.2 (for elgg v1.6.1) work with elgg being installed in a sub-directory (http://myDomain.com/elgg/) off the document root on the server?
Hi :)
Of course it will continue to develop :) i have been using the multisite configuration in several installations runing in production. The new version that i am about to release will be the version i use on my elgg installation. It will include Alvin's Idea of switching from one community to another without relogging, that i have implemented with no hack, as well as some bugs fixing that some of the guys in this group have pointed to.
It would be good if someone has got some idea or made some improvment on his/her side that he/she shares this in this group :)
