mysql problem

Hi,
before of all sorry for my poor english.
I have mysql 5.0 but when I install elgg I have this error:
""The database backend you have installed doesn't meet the basic requirements to run Elgg. Please consult your documentation.""

I solved bypassing the version control and now elgg works perfectly.
You must log in to post replies.Double check on the mysql you have to make sure it is 5+, otherwise, any version below will give you that error message.
double checked, I have 5+ .
