I want to install elgg on some free web hosting server for testing purposes...
I have made an account on 000webhost.com and have uploaded elgg's uncompressed folder on it.... I have no idea how to install it on that server now... Please help me with the procedure of its installation or suggest any other free hosting server which is more compatible with elgg.

You must log in to post replies. This tutorial will help you getting your elgg network up and running:

Actually problem is in first step : Opening the location where I have uploaded Elgg installation package via Filezilla, should load installation screen from where I could proceed. That screen is not loading. What I see is a blank screen.
I know with the rest of installations steps as I have previously installed it on XAMPP.
Now I am getting following error:
Your server's version of PHP (5.2.17) is too old to run Elgg.
if you are trying to install latest elgg vesrion it will require php (5.4) or higer :)
Ok thank you. I'll try some other host with higher version.
I have hosted it on byethost.com and it works fine till now.... Softaculous was used for elgg's installation...
