about duplicate installation

hello community,
i've already posted a discussion about this, just can't find it!
my question concerns duplicate installation, i want to migrate to a remote server.
on behalf of wht is said on the elgg website, 3 things need to be transfered including code.
am using filezilla and it takes ages to do the transfert of code files.
is this normal?
i know it's a silly question, i just panic , i need this to be done as soon as possible and am afraid of not to well understand what is needed to be done.

You must log in to post replies.Yes it's normal, I've done countless transfers before. Transfer will depend on your hosting and how many files you have in data folder.
it does not have any issue with elgg, it is related to the ftp. FTP pick 1|2|3|4|5 file(s) (one by one) and upload it to server. the best way is to zip the folder and upload it and extract it from Cpanel OR use the cpanel file manager to upload the zip and extract it.
I always have issue using ftp because I found that ftp sometimes do not upload some files.
I prefer zip, and cpanel upload.....
