hi there
I wonder, is there any load threshold that elgg cann't handle or its not a thing to worry about.
I am switching my 3 Million user's network on a elgg based domain and wondering if elgg has any limitation in terms of users in it. If there is then how can we update the logic in elgg code.
I am new to elgg so may be i am asking something that is very clear to others in elgg community.
elgg version is 1.10.
Thanks,
Sam

You must log in to post replies.This is a very complicated issue. Short answers however are:
Just for the sake of knowing the actual scenario:
1- What software/forum/web-app/etc. were you using for your 3 million strong network before deciding to switch to elgg?
2- Why did you choose elgg?
Wow 3 million?! Read this: http://learn.elgg.org/en/1.10/admin/performance.html#can-elgg-scale-to-x-million-users
hi all
Thanks for your time.
@Juho Jaakkola: is there any way i can load-test elgg?
@VGNtl: I have choose elgg because its easy, powerful and fast. Also elgg is the ready-made php solution for a social network, what just i need to do is, program a plugin and use elgg methods. Do i need to choose something different?
@manacim: Thanks for reminding me the documentation page ;-)
@saqib
Like the doc page says, depends of your infrastructure. My recommendation is to start with something not so big, and when your elgg network grows, switch to a VPS or Dedicated.
