I'm running 1.9.8 and have been searching through the plugin's to try and find one where it will embed a youtube video simply from the url.
There was an old one that doesn't appear to work with 1.9.
I took a look at iZap but it's allowing me to upload videos to the server and I don't want that. I have posted a comment asking if it's possible to have iZap work by just entering the url.
I know there is the 'HyperWall' that might do it but I'm not using the wall feature. This would be for posting mainly in blogs, pages and discussion.
Does anyone know of a plugin that will do what I'm looking for that also works with 1.9?
Thanks
Dan

hypeScraper is perhaps the tool you are looking for.
Thank you for the prompt replies guys, I'll check them both out.
@Matt, thank you for the direct link to the plugin.
@Ismayil, I'm not sure if hypeScraper is what I'm looking for which is my fault for not explaining clearly what I'm looking for.
I'll report back for the benefit of others on both of them.

Dan
I couldn't get either to work.
hypeEmbed said ecml missing when Elgg Customizable Markup Language 1.8 activated.
For hypeEmbed clicked on embed content, url and embed and nothing happened.
Using hypeScraper with Native DOM parser and nothing else it didn't do anything with the youtube url.
I must be doing something wrong. With youtube being such a standard and so many scripts that embed a video with just the url entered I must be missing something.
One additional item, for doing a preview when embedding I installed editor preview 1.0 which is for 1.8 and whenever I tried to do a preview a red warning would come up and say, 'fancy lightbox has been replaced by colorbox'.

Dan

Cim,
Thank you for the link and suggestion.
It appears to work in the blog and bookmarks, tested both. I also have 'yes' selected for in comments but it doesn't work there.
Is does say for 1.8 not 1.9 so perhaps there is something different.
I do have it set to 'No' for wire posts because I don't use it. Could that have an effect on it not working in 'Comments'?
Regards,
Dan
Also does not work on replies to discussion posting.
Actually the comment views are
I'm not even a beginner programmer or developer so I I'm not understanding what you are trying to tell me here.
Am I suppose to enter those lines under the settings in the text box under 'Advanced: Display video in custom views. Enter one view per line.'?
Yes, copy and paste what I typed into that box
