i have a group here which is closed and which has a visibility setting of 'signed in users only'. i have added a video to the group and the video has a privacy level of 'public'. when i log out from the site and visit the url of the video, i can view the video fine - since the video is set to be public. however, i am now also viewing the group's name, icon and navigation menu in the owner block for the group. when i click on one of the navigation menu links or attempt to view the group's main page, i see a 'missing page' error..
this is a poor experience. i am using group_tools and elgg 1.8 (latest). has this been improved in elgg 1.9+ ?
should i create a ticket?
thanks

You must log in to post replies.at the very least there needs to be an error message rendered that advises that the group is for members only, rather than sending to a default 404 type page.
i lost track if this is a group_tools issue or a core elgg issue.
This is a 1.8 core issue, it's better in 1.9 - not sure if it's completely resolved for all cases
ok thanks, i'll look to update asap.
Hey what's the news on this? Is the issue resolved? 'Cause even I am facing something similar.
