Maybe it is better to make it "Friend of" (and not Friends of) ? I think, this is better to understand for users...
Another method is the one on Facebook: A person has to accept friendship, if he or she does, both are friends. I prefer this one.
@dave - I hope that somebody will... I'm not very good in coding. :-(
@Gleb L.: "friend of" is more semantically correct, I agree. This will be incorporated into the language file.
From a developer's standpoint the friend of/ friends was/is the easier method to go with as it works seamlessly with elggs stye of programming. I'm not saying the facebook way can't be done, but the golden rule for development seems to be GET IT WORKING, GET IT OUT, ITERATE! So that's why we are saying friend of / friends. Also , I have not tested this at all, but seems to be making progress: http://elgg-development.googlegroups.com/web/how_to_friends_approval.txt
Wow, thank you Jade! I will integrate it in my test application and test it a.s.a.p.
Seems pretty cool, but unable to make it work... Are there gurus to check code and/or release a plugin ??
This code is it the same as where the user
has the ability to set what type of notifications they would like to
receive (either in their elgg inbox or via email or both). Things
like when someone posts on a person's profile wall, or on their blog,
or joins a groups ... the list goes on and on ?
