Can't install Elgg

I can't install elgg: after the process I'm getting 302 and 404 errors. Can anyone assist me throught out the installation proccess, please?

You must log in to post replies.hy control your permission with ftp attribute and set with 775
should be really easy, make sure you read the reame file and make sure all permisions are correct. You can save a lot of time if you also ensure your server is correct spec.
Don't forget to use the elgg supplied htaccess file
Sorry, if this sounds simple - make sure you have mod_rewrite for Apache installed.
This reported problem goes way back and probably already resolved. Just adding this for future visitors. I scratched my head on this way back - I'm not good at reading instructions ;-)
