Thanks I will take a look... Seems like your definitely pointing me in the right direction 

MTA + php was tested to be working fine on server, but none of the email notifications to users, working.

Registration verification, Change password, Invite friends, etc. tested from different computers to different recipients, and it is not working, any suggestions?

I had a similar situation recently with 1.9.8 hosted on GoDaddy. In my situation I had to make an edit to php5.ini for the default character set.

default_charset = "UTF-8"

Seems to have resolved the issue for the most part.

The email after registration is still not working, I have 'welcome page 1.0.2' plugin installed and when I deactivate it, nothing is happening when one register(blank screen), but user can login without  email validation.
