Just upgraded to PHP 5.4 on the server. My Elgg site (http://gardenerschat-shed.net) now shows this error message:
"Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /home4/scc123/public_html/gardenerschat-shed.net/engine/lib/elgglib.php on line 1484"
Is there a way of rectifying this problem by editing a script file in the Elgg software - without the huge pain in the arse of going through a labourious upgrade to the version I use?
Many thanks,
G.

You must log in to post replies.I'm not sure, 1.6 is so old at this point I've never worked with it myself. That said, it appears that's just a warning, so it should still function correctly.
And do consider upgrading. It's tough, I know, but you reap so many benefits in performance and security and support.
If the server allows it (I know some do) you could set PHP version to less than 5.4 only for the elgg site.
However, 1.6 is outdated and no longer supported, you must consider upgrading to 1.7.x
If you do make the decision to upgrade, you might as well skip 1.7 as it will be obsolete very soon...
