Hi there, 

I am looking to add a feature such that whenever a user posts a blog, they can choose which existing Site Group to assiciate their blog with. Whenever any other user viewes that group, they can see all the blogs that were associated with the group, or posted directly into the group. 

I have looked into using Site Categories but from what I understand it simply allows faster searches.

I am ok reading and changing code, and would appriciate references and pointers to how this change may be accomplished in Elgg 1.8
