Any files or folders for "Friends"?

With default installation of Elgg 1.8.18 I seem not to see any files or folders for "Friends" while there are plugins for almost every component - blogs, groups, messages etc
Can "Friends" be disabled? What are the files that I can modify for "Friends"?

You must log in to post replies.Freineds action are part of the core and therefore can not be turn off like a plugin. You can however unregriater the freinds pagehandler and actions in the start.php file of a custom plugin.
The functions you will need are:
elgg_unregister_page_handler();
elgg_unregister_menu_item();
elgg_unregister_action();
