Having Hard time - learn elgg

Hey guys, i have use elgg for like 8 moth but i still cant understand core ideas like how to create theme, plugin.. i mean i know what i have to do like create a folder in mod and create file start.php,mainfest.xml and so n so ...ma problem is i cant extend views and change there style ,create ma own plugin that add features update database so i want if someone give me some idea or resource. i know php + javascript,jquirey,css....

You must log in to post replies.the language required for developing elgg are known by you ......... then whats the problem in it .......... i have taken a month learn how to create and edit elgg .............. do some changes in others plugin .... then you can do it ........
if you know php, jquery and css then you should know how to edit elgg.

For extending views and changing css it might be better if you start a new discussion topic for each particular problem and describe in detail what you are trying to achieve.
Also there is an official book on Elgg from the core developer Cash Costello written with simple instructions and pictures.
