"I dunno" is slang for "I don't know."
@Gerard
I know exactly why Elgg was called Elgg. I named it. My family comes from Elgg in Switzerland, and I named it because elgg.net was, at the time, my personal webspace. That's where the first installation was.
@rjcalifronia
The Elgg Mistakes post is coming. I've been a bit shy about posting it, because I've been working on new things. Re: latakoo, it's a social enterprise platform for media professionals. It's not a world away.
@Ben: I installed Elgg for internal use as an internal collab platform in a small NGO*, I'm active in.
Elgg offers a lot of what is needed (or at least highly desriable) in such a context. A nicer task management plugin is high up on my wish list, however.
The idno architecture with a document-based repository really makes a lot of sense. And the uses you described in your blogpost sound very promising. They are somewhat different to our walled-garden application of Elgg, however. Should we still have a go at trying out Idno in its currently available form?
* It's a Swiss NGO, by the way, the Swiss Freethinkers, and we're currently using Elgg to organise the Denkfest, a science festival that will take place in Zürich from Sept 11-14. Around here, the «Swissness» of the name Elgg is immediately understood :-)
@Andreas, that's awesome! I have to be in the US for another event then, but I haven't been to Zürich in a long time. It would be nice to go back. :)
I just laid out Idno's milestones for the year. It'll have a walled garden feature before the summer, including user management etc. I'm also aware of a bunch of really smart Elgg projects that will be released this year. Watch this space ...

@Ben: I definitively will!
@ben waiting for the new version of idno !!
Idno is now Known: http://withknown.com/
Note that it's not a social networking engine in the way that Elgg is.
withknown.com look like paypal!
What are the core feature differences with Elgg?
Can Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and Foursquare updates be sent to withknown activity stream?
Can one withknown site user make "friends" on another withknown site user? Can one withknown site user log into another withknown site without needing to freshly register ( like diaspora or drupal module of drupal 5)? Thanks.
@disha - The With Known website is probably a better spot for those questions.
