Embed files into activity on upload??

I done this before with a plugin but i cant find the one i used before, so i am asking you guys what plugins i could use to embed images into the activity feed when a user uploads a new image?
Right now it only lists a link to the file and then you click a thumnail to show the image in a bigger size. I think thats to much clicking in my opinion. I want to see the image embed into the activity feed when its uploaded. Any suggestions?

That's a great tutorial RvR. Please keep in mind that you have to make it a plugin, instead of modifying core files.
