I dont know css i need to learn alot to be honest if anyone has any tutorials for this and learning php and just about everything you need to know to use elgg effectively then please give me some tutorial links asap as i would like to be a real pro with elgg! ^_^ thank you for any reply's given here very much appreciated as always : )

You must log in to post replies.the book that is often recommended at universities for learning key concepts in programming is 'algorithms, data structures and problem solving' by mark weiss. maybe that's a bit old now, but still contains basic greatness.
i don't have any other specific suggestions since beyond the overview of computer/coding logic that's in that book, the other useful sources are specific to the types of coding standards that are used online, such as css, html, php and javascript/jquery - and i learned those through experimenting and reading books that are out-dated now. sql is the other language needed, which is for database manipulations.
i would start with html and css since they are the simplest to learn; then move to php/javascript and then to sql. from my experience, an effective book is usually more thorough than web walkthroughs and tutorials.
