I am planning to release both codes Sunday. The 1.9 branch is ready, now I am working with Elgg 1.8.16.

Then if you like to Integrate in-house ads or your own Elgg site ads: Better ads, better adverts system instead of oversized and crazy pop ups Ads, unpredictable and annoying ads from major advertisement companies. In addition, you can spice the  Elgg Ads section "Elgg sidebars" just like facebook ads system with twizanex Ads plugin ads management system. Here is the example how it looks:
