I am working with the 1.9 branch it is not garanted at all that it will work on 1.8.x you will have to test it yourself

Yes you are right but I like this simple layout :) It is a good basis for a new 1.9 Elgg in my opinion.

I saw this proof of concept for Facebook design but to implement this in Elgg...you will probably need an army of well-trained webdesigners!

looking nice! can we add ads to the right side bar? am sure we can : ) i will send you a donation when i have some money Staszek i promise : ) oh have a look i edited the cool theme look on my profile the search box you can just remove it as it takes up to much space and hides icons, have a look what i did : ), you can not post to peoples walls or your own and can not click like on comments if you have fixed all those issues wow v good work wish i could do what your doing!

Here is a quick preview.

I will release both codes :

• the mod for the theme (you get the design but not all my plugins modifications)
• My full installation of Elgg (not free but very complete)

I have worked a lot with Elgg now so I hope you will all like it and it will help developers to start on Elgg 1.9!
