Minds.com is forking elgg to cassandra!

Hey elgg!
We've been hard at work this year and have successfully deployed a heavily customized elgg build on top of cassandra headed up by Apache rather than mysql . We are in the process of ironing out a swarm of bugs, but overall the performance is excellent. We even survived a huge viral event! Most of our discussion about it will occur on Minds but we will check in here every now and again.
We are scheduled to release the code next year so stay tuned and keep up the amazing work.

The site looks good. I was able to watch some videos as a result I was able to learneand laugh more unlike YouTube video land where cats and dogs videos are praised, dressed, natured, and adored by most jobless or idle young or youths, house wifes, and ll citizens from all over the the globe ...
@minds, any updates on this? Are you still using cassandra? Was it worth switching from mysql?

@Stevan - yes we are still using cassandra and it is working great. Scalability on the data side of things is no longer an issue.
@Roger Curry & @Alessandro Strazzari - we are still working hard to solidify all the code and we will be open sourcing when the time is right
