i checked and there are no errors i can see that are from my server, as far as i know from google no one can use that plugin with 1.8 elgg, how do i edit the core files to achieve my aim? :)

Never edit the core files. Instead find out what is wrong with the plugin. Have you enabled visible errors from the admin panel?

hmm the pluggin wont work with elgg 1.8, i checked google no one has used this plugin with 1.8 unless they are a coder i am not so i am stuck : (, no it does not it gives a ip address and says files do not exist, i dont think there is anyway to get this plugin to work to be honest, what do you think? i am a newbie and havnt got a clue what i am doing to be honest lol :D

Ok, I tried out the plugin and got this message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '-', expecting '(' in /var/www/elgg/dev/mod/rename-wire/start.php on line 11

Change the "rename-wire_init" to "rename_wire_init. Also to line 19. That should fix it.

it is showing as what you said though this is from the file before installing 

once i install the file will change? then edit line 11 and line 19? because when it happens i can not accsess the site maybe edit plugin while in server then activate?

damm lol sorry i just noticed what you said rename-wire_init" to "rename_wire_init.

i have done what you said no errors but the plugin rename the wire is not showing any more tips please you fixed the site from failing : ) lol now how to get it working
