The essence of a problem the User Irma does not occur in a line (for whom) while he is not added in the friends. The message to send it fails

Excuse me friend_request is not guilty in this problem.You can load last version 1.8.1.6 to add two users and to check up.Mistake in that the users at the answer choose the button " Compose a message " in a right top corner and can not send the message (To). Half can not understand, that it is necessary to press on avatar of the addressee.
I'm pretty sure this isn't a bug, but is a deliberate design decision for 1.8. The view can be changed via a plugin though to use a userpicker instead of a friends dropdown. I think this change has been made for 1.9.
