Code to include "the wire" on Index

Hey Guys,
I'm an Newbie in the whole Elgg thing so I installed a downloaded theme. I want to customize it to "take a look behind the scenes" of Elgg before I create my own one. My question now is: How can I show "The wire" on my main page (http://web234.nextlogin.de/html/) at the place where is says "Neue Bookmarks" now? I know where to insert/replace the code but I can not find the code itself to include the new posts on "The wire" and a little box to create answers. Any ideas?

FYI for anyone who stumbles onto this post: DhrupDeScoop's code is deprecated for Elgg 1.8.x and newer
now it's elgg_list_entities('object','thewire');
