I want to customize a theme and have it be functional like the Facebook Theme with activity stream, groups, profiles, friends, messages, etc.

Currently I have the Facebook Theme activated but I'm getting nowhere when I try to add an image logo to the header and so far nothing i've read in the documentation has helped.

Is there another theme out there that's similar and easier to edit/customize?

I've done google searches but there doesn't seem to be any step by step directions on how to change the design on this theme and add a logo in the header. I did find a short tutorial on how to add a logo to the default ELGG theme here, http://blog.arvixe.com/how-to-replace-the-default-elgg-1-8-title-with-an-image/ - thats was nice and easy to do, maybe i can just customize the default ELGG theme?

any tips? suggestions? tutorials?
