There are many discussion tops in this group already. I am pretty sure that many topics would cover the same questions I am going to ask.
But I cannot find a good built in search tool like we can find in other tech support forum such as vbulletin and phpbb.
Is there any elgg built in search tool let me search the group discussion topics by title, tag and topic message content?
Thanks!

You must log in to post replies.Last 2 weeks, since I started working with Elgg, I repeatedly getting into same situation: whenver I found exact my question already asked here, there is no any reply to it.
Ok. Same question. How to search inside discussion? Or you guys think one will browse to the second, third etc page, reading every subject?
This is always surprising and strange: ppl continue listing things by pages - but nobody loves visiting ANY page except the first one. Why you output 10-20 items? i want ALL the items to try Ctrl-F at least if you didn't bother creating nice filter.
Sad sad sad
You can search within discussion threads by modifying the query to this:
http://example.com/pg/search/?q=query&entity_subtype=group_topic_post
This has been tested only 1.7.6. Don't think it will work on 1.6.x.
Hope this helps.
Search was changed completely between 1.6 and 1.7, so Shyam's fix is 1.7 only.
