Yup that one and others. Prices are about the same, though if you can get away with limiting to just the US you can get better rates.

I'd use email for all outgoing SMS to avoid using the credits and only use the SMS gateway service for inbound messages. For users I'd probably go with a flat rate of X incoming messages a month for $Y.00, no roll-overs :)

Yeah that is something to consider. Long as it doesn't go the way of Google Wave (though I doubt it, Wave sucked).

I have tested Elgg-SMS on my Mobile phone and everything works oki doki. Waiting on one Elgg friend in the UK and one in Germany to confirm their setups - in addition to 2 in the USA who have already confirmed . This is almost all the interest I see in SMS. If y'all want SMS - ask, fund, contribute...

DhrupDeScoop I think first you must be changing notifications plugin, because it is not so good. Have you rewrite the whole plugin again?

What about comments? when some one comment on someones status/file/photo/video will it be able to send that comment. I am saying this because I have not found any good plugin for comments.

Will your plugin work in  Pakistan?

No need to rewrite the plugin completely, just add a check to see if the user wants to be texted on a given event and if so send it. If other plugins allow for notification on comments, etc., then this would pick it up.

As for if it would work in Pakistan, it depends on who your mobile service provider is and if they have an open SMS/email gateway.

I am not php expert but i am a computer science student, completes c, c++, lil bit java. hope i will do php soon. bec i have knowledge about c, c++ and java so it was not soo hard for me to change plugins which i already did :D
