Does anyone know of a way/plugin to provide sorting by the number of likes? For example in photos or vides it might be cool to be able to sort them from highest to lowest on the respective pages to see what others liked the most?
Any thoughts?

Do you have a solution Team Webgalli?
Have you searched for discussions of atleast one month old? Are you expecting devs here to do all such things for you?
Ok, here it is http://lmgtfy.com/?q=list+by+most+liked+in+elgg
I guess this thread: http://community.elgg.org/discussion/view/1130346/plugin-idea-most-appreciatedmost-likes-as-a-category
There's no solution posted there either, only some hints where to start and an announcement about a plugin that might be released sometimes that might allow to display "most liked" items.
Also, I must say I find it rather annoying if someone gives this helpful "FGI" tips. Most of the time this won't help anything at all. I'm quite sure most people tried to search on their own before asking. But the search here on the site can be rather useless and even Google might not give you any useful results, if you don't know the correct terms to search for. For example, I found the thread I linked above only on the third or fourth try either.
@@iionly I Agreed to ur point I also search this in thread but its not much help for me. :( :( ..
Well thats a very impressive google search. Also where I started, and your search yielded the same as mine... Nothing useful. Now does anyone besides Team Webgalli know of a way/plugin to provide sorting by the number of likes?
yep
there was yet another topic long before you posted
here where i had posted some basic code or pseudo
code to fetch the kind of data you're looking for..
i'm sure that with a little bit of inventive googling..
anyone can find those posts from afew weeks ago.
and.. if people are annoyed by FGI tips - perhaps they
should not rely on google;; I usually google for my own
older posts because i just cannot remember what, where..
and also bacause elgg's search sux ;) *and usually i
can find what i'm looking for @elgg. google's good!
if you cannot find that post fvia google - why then !
i will just have to google it for you !
wanna bet i can find it thru google ?
apart from from googling, bitching about other people's
FGI advice, and generally farting.. one can always
pull up those coding sleevs and FCI themselves ;-P
here
Still No usefull post I am wating for any usefull comments. :) :)
you're not going to get a spoonfed answer - check the docs, look at the elgg_get_entities* functions
