Does anyone know the release date for Elgg 1.9? I don't see core developers here anymore and no info on the plans for Elgg...

It's about 3 weeks overdue according to the roadmap. Steve has been doing some work on things I've noticed, and the roadmap makes it look further behind than it really is, I think, as I know some of those tickets that are showing as open have pull requests pending for them.
The core developers are around, they just haven't been very visible on here lately.
Thanks Matt. Good to know something's happening behind the scenes
I'm enthusiasmated about the new 1.9 reelase too. There is a pre beta or pre something to download untill an official release comes out?
The latest Elgg code can always be found from here: https://github.com/Elgg/Elgg
Just click the button that says "Zip" and Github will wrap up the latest version into a .zip file that you can then download and install.
Be very careful with the development version. It most likely still includes a lot of broken features that can cause bugs and/or security issues.
At the top right corner of the file list on that page, there is a "history" link. From there it is possible to see the latest modifications that the core devs have made to the core.
I'm not worried about 1.9 - not yet. I'm more worried about 1.8.9 and not hearing any updates about it.
@Juho: Thanks mate.
Here's an update:
Great to see things keep moving )) .... Whenever there is "major performance booster" ... let's release it ;)))
BTW Trac is down... also solves the Ticket Backlog ;))
@Evan: an performance booster sounds good. Untill 1.9 comes out I'll start familiarize with 1.8.8/1.8.9 :)
Is there any way to disable/edit report this button that it won't appear in all pages(and I mean all including edit profile, add blog post ...etc) or Ellg dev team to look at in future releases?
