I have tried installing elgg several times on a hosted domain other than the primary and get an error message saying it could be 2 things: 1. Change permission settings on install folder 2. need to change the htaccess file and do a rewrite rule with subdomain path.
I have tried both and neither work.
Please hekp!

You must log in to post replies.I don't quite understand this.
Can you post a screenshot of the error?
Is your alternate domain pointing to your server/hosting?

Have you added "RewriteBase/" to the start of the .htaccess file?
