Hi! I made a social network for designers from Balkan, used elgg as a CMS.
And, without false modesty, this may be the best elgg design you have ever seen.
Here's the link, so judge yourself: http://www.mojdizajn.net
It took a lot of effort to customize all of this. If you like it, maybe I'll release it as a free theme.

i don't really have any comment on the layout for you, i am choosing not to judge at all.
i am interested to know if you have made any changes to make the site run quickly, its a lot quicker than mine!
No, just correctly done CSS & well-placed javascripts - all runs smoothly.
Actually, I've reduced amount of CSS code. A lot.
ah, ok, i will explore doing the same. so your site doesn't have all of the page elements of the original elgg template and you simply removed the parts you don't need from the css file?
you've 'reduced the smount of CSS, A lot' ??? well !! looks like --> 100,030 (Yours) minus 84,986 (Elgg) => +15,044 bytes larger than Elgg's CSS ;-P
My site has 3570 lines of code, and this one, for example, 4642. Written in the same way. When I minify it, it'll be a lot lighter then most of the elgg sites out there...
BTW, I redesigned admin panel to follow the theme, too, and I'm coding the tumblr theme to follow all of this right now: blog.mojdizajn.net
you did not get it didya ?
elgg css file size is 83 KB
your css file size is 98 KB
your css file is much bigger, not reduced :)
YES, I much like your website design, just simple, clean and professional. congrats!
That's a pretty outstanding design. Congratulations!
Nice Work
