good lol
you should just get a conventional domain like .com .net .org - it's what everyone is used to seeing.

Awesome, I didn't know google had remove .co.cc - good riddance (not that it really affected me, but the less .co.cc stuff that shows up for non-aware people the better)
Anyway, Ben, just spring for a .com and be done with it. It's like $12/yr from godaddy. If you can't afford $12 for a year even in the beginning - how are you going to afford hosting?
he getz free hosting.
still, you're talking about monetization - you've got to spend money to make money. While it's pretty hard to make money at social networks, it's almost guaranteed to be fruitless on a .co.cc
On yocmatsu.com I have a walledgarden that gives the apperance registration is open. This allows me to check with http://www.stopforumspam.com. I also check where they are with Google map api and so far every spammer lies about the local they are from. Example reported city by spammer is New York, ip location reveals China. So far todate, 0 spamers.
steve: i visited your site's registration page and the region that was displayed for me is about 200-300 miles away.. maybe that's close enough for you to accept.. i just thought i'd let you know. some sites detect me to be within 10 miles of where i am, some further.. the 200-300 miles is about as far away as i have seen.
@ura 500 miles wouldn't be that bad but when the spammer says he is from New York and he is actually sending from China, well that looks like a spammer to me. But that is just the first test, the next takes the ip address and checks it against stopforumspam.com and if they report to me that they are a spammer, then I do not let them in and I report their activity back to stopforumspam. My effort the keep the neigborhood, our world free of spam. here is how it looks. This was an attempt yesterday.

What do you think does he look like a duck? He sure is quacking.
sure, i see your principle working.. really i'm just letting you know the geolocation method is, for whatever reason, not entirely as accurate as it could be.
the other issue is that there are services such as tor which present an IP which is not your home one to anonymise your location, which may have nothing to do with intent to spam.
the stopforumspam option seems to work well, yes.
