Dear elgg users,
Isn't it necessary to delete the install directory after the elgg installation for security reasons? If yes, this seems to have been ignored in the documentation I guess. What is your opinion? Is it OK to leave it alone?
Cheers,
Kamesh

What security reasons? As far as I know it's fine.
@Matt Some Open Source frameworks (Open Cart, Joomla) ask to delete the Install directory after installation for security reasons, but in elgg, that's not necessary at all.

by the way , nothing happen if we delete a installation folder, but its not necessary to delete..
Not only open cart and Joomla, but also Drupal asks you to delete the install folder and would not proceed further unless it is done so.
But, I was actually looking for a reason as to why it can be left alone and still would not impact security.
there is no reason for nor against
