I am working on setting up a new elgg 1.8 site. One of the test users profile page does not display correctly; it did when it was first added. All the other test users' profile pages display correctly. Upon exaiming the source code to the page, the whole header is missing; the top of the page starts at <div class="elgg-widget-add-control">. I am guessing that this is not a site wide problem but related to this one user account since all the other users's profile pages load correctly. How could this have happened? Is there something stored in the database that determines or controls the header for each profile that has gotten corrupted or deleted and I can simply put back or correct? I am a n00b and still have much to learn. What I am hoping is that if something like this was to happen on the production site, I could easily get it back to normal so the the user does not lose their content by being forced to create a new account.

You must log in to post replies.user profile must have some juck/ code inside his profile 'details' that is bypasing (htmlawed security) controls - look into the db metastrngs for that user for suspicious 'code'
No, I don't think it is HTMLawed that is causing this. When I say the header is missing, I mean the HTML header. The doctype, and < head > < /head> and everything in between. No javascript is loading, no css files, all that is suppose to be in the header is missing. What could cause elgg not to ouput the header for one profile but do it for all the other profiles? I guess the answer is looking around in the database but it would be nice to know more about where to look.
;nice to know....?' toldya above ! @ ' look into the db metastrings '
That has happened to me with an old elgg installation. It is a widget problem or something.
