hello friendly elgg community.
I have built another site for a client using elgg and they are requesting i remove the ability to post comments. Does anyone have an easy work around for that?
im sure this is a newb question but any help i could get would be appreciated.
Thanks!

You must log in to post replies.I have seen a plugin here which will allow u to edit or remove comment. Try to search here:)
ive looked and couldnt find one, could you perhaps point me in the right direction?
If you are using elgg 1.7 then see this
OR
if you are using elgg 1.8 then see this
I tested but did not work for me as u can see my comments there, BUT do let me know if that plugin works for u:)
Good Luck
ive tried that and im getting the comment box still
Override the page/elements/comments and forms/comments/add views. Copy the files from the core views into your own plugin and put a return; at the top of each. That way if you change your mind you can just remove the returns. You'll still have to manually delete existing comments.
fyi i figured it out. thanks for the help!
I added the false term for each plugin i wanted comments off of in page/elements/comments. that took the box out completely. thanks for the help steve!
